Hon'able Prime Minister,

I, Dr. Sushma Shalla, am writing this letter to you with a heavy heart and sadness. My father Martyr Chuni lal Shalla was CID Inspector in Jammu Kashmir Police.

On May 1, 1990, when my father was coming to Baramulla from Kupwara police station with his PSO Mohammad Ahmadullah, as soon as the bus reached a secluded place some distance from Kupwara bus stop, some terrorists forcibly stopped the bus and they started shouting my father's name loudly and when no one in the bus said nothing. Suddenly my father's PSO Mohammad Ahmadullah got up and revealed the identity of my father.

After that my father was forcibly taken off from the bus and was taken to a secluded place called Kashipora. He was brutally tortured by terrorists. While torturing, terrorists pulled out his teeth and nails, his bones were smashed. Then they tried to hang him but He gave a very tough fight, so they shot him from point blank range in his temple and a brave Indian gave supreme sacrifice to Bharat Mata.

Hon'able Prime Minister, in past 30 years, the Jammu and Kashmir Police neither gave any FIR Report nor Post Mortem Report to our family nor did the Jammu Kashmir Police Department ever contacted or informed anything to our family nor role of my father's PSO's Mohammad Ahmadullah had been informed us.

Hon'able Prime Minister, I have the following request from you-

1. The FIR with Closure Report in relation to the murder of my father should be given to us.

2. The Post mortem report should be given to us.

3. A fresh FIR should be lodged and the role of his PSO Mohammad Ahmadullah must be probed and re-examined by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Hon'able Prime Minister, as a daughter and a citizen of this country, it is also my right to get justice for my father's murder. Hon'able Prime Minister, I hope that you will take note of this letter and order a fresh investigation in this regard.
